Who else is jealous that they weren't at London/Milan/Paris/New York fashion week? My hand is firmly in the air. I'm determined to go one year.
It doesn't help that I follow probably every person possible who tweets about it every 5 seconds. I think my favourite collections were Erdem, Mary Katrantzou (yep, one week on and I'm still raving about her...), Christopher Kane & Stella McCartney. All feminine, all flirty & all bold; floral's here to stay for A/W '12.
But anyway, enough of that. I thought this week, I'd do my own Fashion Week. So here are the outfits I've been wearing these past seven days... Kicking off on,
Monday:
Blazer - Zara
Blue Peterpan top - Primark
Floral leggings - Topshop
Satchel - Vintage
Shoes - Converse
Monday's are my busiest days, and since the early starts are always a bit of a strain for me I usually slip on whatever I can find. This particular morning I went for smart-casual, teaming my Zara blazer with my newly re-discovered floral leggings for comfort. I love anything with a Peterpan collar on it too, so I couldn't pass up on this Primark bargain.
Tuesday:
Led Zep tee
Jacket - Internacionale
High-waisted shorts - H&M
Belt - Vintage
Aztec Bag - Primark
Boots - ASOS
Necklace - Topshop
Today, I was hungover. I had a heavy night with all my lovely French girlies and as is custom, we always go for hangover catchups at our favourite hangover pub, 'The Place.' Don't be fooled by the lacklustre name: it does cheap, good food which suits me just fine! The top is one that I borrowed from a friend, who then said I could keep it (hurrah for me!) He can't remember where it's from though unfortunately haha. I actually wear it to bed, and unashamedly, wore it out in public that day. I bought this leopard-print jacket a while ago at Clothes Show Live and have kind of been waiting for the right weather to wear it out as it's quite a thin material, but it seems okay as a light layer here.
Wednesday:
Breton Striped Jumper - Topshop
Dress - Miss Selfridge
Bag - Dixi
Amber ring - ASOS
Brogues - Primark
Wednesday's are my days off so I went shopping in town, bought some hair dye, and spontaneously (as is with every major hair decision, like my impromptu fringe), I dyed my hair. I've been wanting to do ombre for nearly a year now, but was deterred by a Satan hairdresser who made me look more like Tony the Tiger than Ashley Simpson - disaster. So I'm glad the D.I.Y went okay: only cost me a fiver and took me less than an hour as well! It's definitely a work-in-progress though.
This is a new bag I bought from Shop Dixi been wanting one in this draw-string style for ages now so was happy when this snake-skin one cropped up on the website. I absolutely love this Miss Selfridge number too, but since midi-skirts are very in this season I wore it with a jumper to disguise it as a skirt, even if the collar does peep through! The waterfall style works well with this season's trends too.
Thursday:
Vintage Polka-dot dress - Shop Dixi
Fur coat - Topshop
Brogues - Primark
Satchel - Vintage
Statistically, Thursday was the warmest day of the year so far! In London it was 18C! Up north it was only 13, but that definitely still qualifies as beer-garden weather. In celebration, I bared my legs for the first time, obviously did the rookie error and forgot to shave in the excitement of it all, woops. Still in love with this dress from Dixi; navy blue with polka dots, you can't go wrong really...
Friday:
Blazer - Topshop
Lace top - Topshop
Sheer maxi-skirt - Vero Moda
Boots - ASOS
Bag - Primark
Watch - Urban Outfitters
Firstly, I'm sorry the picture quality is so bad - as you can tell I'm posing like a drunk idiot in the girls' toilets. Dan came up to visit on Friday so we met some of my friends out for cocktails at this great bar called Soyo Sheffield, which was lovely. I've been waiting to wear this skirt all year, and tonight was the night! I bought it a while back with Tuscany in mind (I'm going travelling there in August) as I can just imagine myself loving life with a glass of vino in one hand and a freshly-plucked olive in the other. It felt like a very Olivia Palermo outfit.
Saturday:
Leigh 7/8ths - Topshop
Grey tee - River Island
Necklace + bracelet - H&M
Brogues - Primark
Watch - Urban Outfitters
Bag - vintage
Had a very boring Saturday and spent it all day in the library! These are my new Leigh Topshop jeans which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Topshop are always my staple for jeans, and the light denim makes them very summery which I love. I felt the tribal gold accessories spiced up what would otherwise be a rather simple, relaxed outfit.
And lastly... Sunday:
Crucifix tee - New Look
Leggings - Topshop
Aztec slipper socks - Primark
Liz's grunge Sunday look - Priceless
I do look a bit gross here don't I. Never mind. I invited my friend over to watch a film, so had a very chilled Sunday with some popcorn & The Woman In Black. I also mentioned this crucifix tee a while back which I adoreee.
This was a very long blog post! Well done if you made it to the end. Definitely doesn't measure up to all those catwalks in Milan over the weekend but it's more just a fleeting fashion-snippet into my life.
Have a lovely week girls!
